Purley Church Of England
Primary School

Let all that you do be done in love

1 Corinthians 16:14

Welcome to Purley CE Primary School

Every day is an open day at our school- to get a true feel of all we have to offer, just email or phone the school to arrange your visit!

Nestled in Purley Village and only a short walk from the River Thames, our small village school has a strong community feel. Embedded in the local community for 150 years, our pupils and staff are always exploring ways to enhance links and contribute to the village. The whole Purley school family work together to ensure we are a happy and vibrant school with a caring and supportive atmosphere. We support pupils of all abilities to thrive and develop.

As recognised by both OFSTED (‘Good’, November 2021) and SIAMS (‘Good’, November 2021) we have high expectations and standards. Our talented staff inspire and motivate our pupils to “Learn to love and love to learn”. With a maximum class size of 30, and some core subjects taught in year group cohorts of no more than 15, we provide a bespoke curriculum to inspire a lifelong love of learning. Although traditional in appearance, our school is architecturally a blend of old and new, with a modern extension to the rear providing roomy airy classrooms and even a slide! We embrace technology: every pupil in Key Stage 2 has access to a Chrome Book and iPad, and Google Classrooms provides a learning link between home and school.

We are a Church of England School and our values of love, courage and wisdom weave their way through all that we do. They are rooted in our Christian ethos and support our children to be kind, reflective and resilient, equipping them to take on the opportunities, responsibilities and challenges of future life.

We currently have spaces in our Reception class and Years 2 and 5. Our nursery provision, for those aged 3 and up, can provide up to 15 hours of childcare entitlement and we welcome new pupils to this class in September, January and April where spaces allow. Please enquire at our school office regarding availability for our nursery class or contact West Berkshire Admissions regarding in-year transfers to other year groups.

I am incredibly proud to be the Headteacher of Purley CE Primary School. My pupils and I would love to welcome you to our school to share in our exciting learning experiences. Do get in touch with our office to arrange a personal tour.
