Uniform ordering
Our uniform supplier is Tilehurst Schoolwear. For the time being, uniform purchases can only be made online. If you would like to check sizing please pop into their shop located at 20 Hildens Drive, Tilehurst, Reading, Berkshire, RG31 5HU. Their opening hours are 10am - 5pm Tuesday to Friday and 10am - 2pm on Saturdays (closed Sunday and Monday).
The white polo tops, shirts and blouses, grey trousers, skirts, pinafores and summer dresses are readily available from many retailers.
Guidance for Parents
At Purley Primary School, we take pride in our uniform. Wearing the correct uniform helps children feel part of our school community and supports a positive learning environment.
School Uniform
Children are expected to wear:

Purple sweatshirt with a round neck and school logo or a purple cardigan with the school logo

White polo shirt for Infants (Foundation Stage to Year 2)

White shirt or blouse for Juniors (Year 3 and above)

Logo polo shirts, shirts or blouses are optional – plain white items are absolutely fine

Grey trousers or shorts

Grey skirt, trousers, shorts or pinafore dress

Purple gingham dress (summer option)

Grey tights, white socks or grey socks
PE Kit
For PE lessons, children should wear:

House-colour T-shirt

Black shorts
-
Black jogging bottoms or leggings for use in colder weather

Black pumps and/or trainers
Shoes

Black school shoes should be worn every day

Shoes should be secure, with a low heel, for health and safety reasons

Trainers, boots or open-toed sandals are not permitted for everyday school wear

Trainers should only be worn for PE or sports clubs
Hair and Jewellery

Hair longer than shoulder length should be tied back, for safety and comfort

Hair should be a natural colour and styles should be suitable for school

Small stud earrings only are permitted

Earrings must be removed for PE (or taped by the pupil if removal is not possible)
Keeping Uniform Affordable

Most uniform items (such as trousers, skirts and shirts) can be purchased from any retailer

Branded items are kept to a minimum, in line with DfE affordability guidance

We also have a pre-loved uniform shop, run by FOPS

Items are available at regular second-hand uniform sales
