Ofsted Inspection Report Card

Ofsted Inspection April 2026

Purley CE Primary School is delighted to announce the results of its recent Ofsted inspection, published in June 2026.

Following a two-day visit by a team of three inspectors, this "small but mighty" village primary school met the expected standard in all areas and was recognised for its strong standard in Personal Development and Wellbeing, a key aspect of supporting children to thrive in today's world.

The report highlights the school's caring ethos, ambitious curriculum, and commitment to ensuring every child is valued, supported and inspired to achieve their best. Inspectors noted that "pupils feel safe and happy" and that the school's programme for personal development "prepares pupils thoroughly for life beyond school".

Inspectors also praised the school's focus on developing confident, resilient learners and recognised the positive relationships between staff, pupils and families that lie at the heart of the school community. The report found that "leaders have developed a cohesive, carefully planned approach to personal development and wellbeing" and have created "a school culture which ensures pupils experience a positive and enriching school life" through curricular and extra curricular activities.

The strong judgement for Personal Development and Wellbeing reflects the school's dedication to nurturing the whole child, ensuring pupils are equipped not only with academic knowledge but also with the character, confidence and life skills needed for future success. Ofsted further recognised that "there is genuine care and attention for every pupil and their family".

Headteacher Mrs Amy Holland said: "We are incredibly proud of this outcome, which reflects the hard work, dedication and commitment of our staff, pupils, governors and families. As a small village school, we strive to provide every child with an exceptional educational experience, and it is wonderful to see our strengths recognised in this report. We will continue to build on this success and ensure that every child at Purley Primary School flourishes both academically and personally."

The report concludes: "This is an excellent school and serves its community extremely well. It is small but mighty." It can be read by scanning the QR code above, or clicking the link here.
